Education

I am a current junior at California State University, Long Beach pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication with a specialization in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing.

Experience

I've had an affinity for reading and writing for as long as I can remember. In all four years of high school, I enrolled in honors and AP English classes, and graduated in the top 10% of my class. I understand that every student is different and learns in various ways, so I like to structure tutoring sessions according to whether a student is an auditory, visual, tactile, or kinesthetic learner. It's easy for teachers to fall into a one-way lecture, but I find positive, conversational learning environments more effective. I also have experience with the SAT test, and I would be more than happy to help any student who needs an extra boost in this area. SAT Scores: Reading: 540 Writing: 590 Math: 580 Education is one of my greatest passions because it's amazing how much there is to learn about the world. My goal is to help students love learning, too, and also help keep their curiosity growing.

At California State University, Long Beach, I am the president of the Public Relations Student Society and the collegiate director of archives of the Delta Gamma women's fraternity. When I'm not at school or participating in these organizations, I like to snorkel, kayak, find hole-in-the-wall eateries, and go to Disneyland.
